ABORTION FUNDING BAN: Prohibiting the use of federal funds to pay for or provide insurance coverage for elective abortions?
Candidate Comments:Our main focus needs to be the elimination of baby killing. Legislative measures that will
protect the life of every innocent human being must be our goal. I support the Florida Personhood
initative. It is the only proposed legislation that can stop the slaughter of our preborn brothers and
sisters. Our Lord has said, "What you do for one of the least of these, you do for me." None of us have
COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM: Legislation that ensures the integrity of our borders, fosters family reunification and provides a path to citizenship for the undocumented who have lived in the United States for a number of years, and do not have a criminal record?
Candidate Comments:I support all measures in line with Catholic Church teaching.
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE: Reauthorizing the current provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to ensure that all public and nonpublic schoolchildren receive equitable services?
Candidate Comments:Parents have the responsibility to properly educate their children. Catholic schools help
the parents with this responsibilty. It is never advisable to accept money from Federal or State
governments, if this money comes with government supervision. Church schools must remain
independent from government, so that they are free to teach the Truth.
MARRIAGE: Defining marriage as the exclusive union of one man and one woman?
POVERTY-FOCUSED INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE: Maintaining and increasing funding for U.S. international humanitarian and development assistance to poor countries and communities?
Candidate Comments:Our government is corrupt, and ties assistance to poor countries with the promotion of
contraception and abortion. The Church is the only organization spiritually able to provide assistance. I
support taking this out of government hands and putting it back into the hands of the Church.
PRIORITY FOR THE POOR: Budget policies with adequate revenues to put a circle of protection around programs that serve poor and vulnerable people at home and abroad?
Candidate Comments:The Church is the organization that needs to be empowered to provide for the poor and
vulnerable. Govenments need to return money to the people so that we can serve our brothers and
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Allowing individuals and businesses, including religious organizations, to offer employee benefits and services to the public in accordance with their religious beliefs?
Candidate Comments:The government should have very limited powers, and should not be involved in regulating
private businesses, individuals, or Churches.
