EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE: Reauthorizing the current provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to ensure that all public and nonpublic schoolchildren receive equitable services?
Candidate Comments:Under the tenth amendment, I support returning control of education to the state. I support vouchers and parental choice in education. All students deserve the best education we can give them, be it at public, private or charter schools.
MARRIAGE: Defining marriage as the exclusive union of one man and one woman?
POVERTY-FOCUSED INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE: Maintaining and increasing funding for U.S. international humanitarian and development assistance to poor countries and communities?
Candidate Comments:Only those countries that are true friends of the United States, for humanitarian purposes, not simply for redistribution of wealth or for agenda 21 initiatives.
PRIORITY FOR THE POOR: Budget policies with adequate revenues to put a circle of protection around programs that serve poor and vulnerable people at home and abroad?
Candidate Comments:I want to take care of Americans first. I do believe in compassionate help for those truly in need. I do not support redistribution of wealth or agenda 21 initiatives or support to countries that are not our true friends.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Allowing individuals and businesses, including religious organizations, to offer employee benefits and services to the public in accordance with their religious beliefs?
Candidate Comments:I believe that the intent of the founding fathers was not to keep the churches out of politics and government but instead to keep the government out of churches.
The Candidate Questionnaire Project (CQP) offers candidates the opportunity to comment on each question beyond "support" or "oppose". • Inappropriate or foul language is not permitted.
The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops reserves the right to remove from its Web site any comments that do not follow the guidelines listed above.
