ABORTION - PARENTAL CONSENT: Requiring parental consent for a minor to obtain an abortion? (Currently, Florida law requires only parental notification.)
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:I strongly support parental rights
AFFORDABLE HOUSING: Appropriating Sadowski Affordable Housing trust funds generated by documentary stamp taxes on real estate transactions to the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) and State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) programs?
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:Although I am against raising taxes, existing taxes should be used more efficiently to help
our needy families in our community.
IMMIGRATION: A policy against incarcerating undocumented persons who have no criminal record or against whom no criminal charges are filed?
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:The state does not have the money to incarcerate, nor should they
PARENTAL EMPOWERMENT: Allowing parents to designate an approved percentage of the State's per-pupil funding for each school-age child that can go toward tutoring, dual enrollment, prepaid college, virtual schooling, and nonpublic school tuition?
OPPOSE
Candidate Comments:Although I support School Choice, per-pupil funding has been significantly reduced in
recent years. School districts would have no way of maintaining sound fiscal practices if they could not
project FTE (per pupil funding).
PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: Maintaining funding for supportive services for persons with disabilities to live in the community?
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:Need more specific information in order to fully answer this but overall, we must help our
most vulnerable.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Allowing individuals and businesses, including religious organizations, to offer employee benefits and services to the public in accordance with their religious beliefs?
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:Freedom of thought, freedom of expression, freedom of religion...all good things. It is the
American way!
UNANIMOUS JURY RECOMMENDATION FOR DEATH SENTENCE: Requiring a unanimous jury recommendation to sentence someone to death? (Currently, Florida law requires at minimum a simple majority vote (7 to 5) of the jury to recommend a sentence of death.)
SUPPORT
Candidate Comments:Society has a grave responsibility to incarcerate or even worse take a person's life. With
the forensic advances available at this time, we should make every effort to ascertain if someone has
committted a crime before taking their life.
