(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis on Thursday called on all men and women of good will to fight for the abolishment of the death penalty in "all of its forms" and for the improvement of prison conditions. The Pope was addressing a group of members of the International Association of Criminal Law whom he received in the Vatican.
WASHINGTON—In a statement to mark Respect Life Month, October 2014, Cardinal Sean O'Malley, O.F.M. Cap., of Boston called for "community and solidarity" as an antidote to threats against life. Cardinal O'Malley chairs the Committee on Pro-Life Activities of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
