Social Concerns

The Conference supports the belief that all persons have certain basic economic rights and society has a moral obligation to ensure, so far as possible, no one among us is hungry, homeless, unemployed or otherwise denied whatever is necessary to live with dignity.
2012 Priority areas:
Allowing second look by trial court judge for juvenile offenders sentenced to ten or more years in prison to assess ability to re-enter society
Opposing efforts to pass punitive laws aimed at undocumented immigrants
Maintaining funding levels for persons with disabilities to live in appropriate settings
Providing safe housing for sexually exploited children
Addressing adequate compensation for farmworkers displaced in natural disasters
Protecting Florida's water supply from depletion and pollution
Opposing expansion of casino gambling in Florida
